PRE-ORDER: 2002 - 2007 (GD) Impreza Lightweight Rear Bumper Beam Version 2.0
This is a pre-order to get one of the first batch of newly redesigned Lightweight Rear Bumper Beams. I am only planning to order ~20 Rear Beams and I expect them to be finished and ship to customers around mid-January, 2025.
I have made a few design improvements that I have been wanting to do for quite a while now. Changes from the previous version include:
- The Aluminum beam is made of slightly thicker material and more of the back side is fully boxed section for additional strength/rigidity
- Completely redesigned Stainless Steel Mounting Brackets are lighter than the old brackets keeping the overall assembly weight very close to the old version
- The raised center section has dimple dies for a slight improvement in both weight and rigidity (and they look awesome!)
- Bolts are Zinc-plated for better corrosion protection
The Oswald Performance Rear Bumper Beam is a direct replacement for the stock beam on your 2002 - 2007 Impreza. It weighs 7.5 lbs, compared to the 28 lb stock beam.
While the handling improvement is not quite as dramatic as replacing the front bumper beam, dropping over 20 lbs from the very rear helps to further reduce the car's polar moment of inertia. This makes the car easier to rotate, allowing quicker turn-in and transitions. Of course, the weight reduction will also subtly increase the car's acceleration and maximum cornering grip while decreasing tire and brake wear.
The Oswald Performance Rear Bumper Beam consists of two Stainless Steel Mounting Brackets, the Aluminum Beam, and six high-strength bolts to attach the Beam to the Brackets.
